Reinstatement of Wrongfully Dismissed GCUF Professor

In 2015, a senior professor at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF) was dismissed from service under contentious and politically influenced circumstances. The professor had long served in his academic role with distinction, but internal politics and unfounded accusations led to his termination without a fair inquiry. Our firm, Horizon International Legal Experts LLC, took up the case and brought it before the Lahore High Court, highlighting severe procedural flaws and misuse of disciplinary mechanisms under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act, 2006.
Through extensive legal drafting, evidence submission, and courtroom advocacy, we demonstrated that the professor had been denied due process, his defense had not been heard, and the disciplinary process was carried out in violation of statutory requirements. Moreover, an inquiry by anti-corruption authorities and findings presented in media reports further validated that the dismissal was unjust and unsupported by evidence.
The Lahore High Court, acknowledging the unlawful nature of the dismissal, ruled in favor of reinstatement and ordered that the professor be restored to his previous position with full back benefits, including salary and seniority. This judgment not only vindicated the professor's integrity but also reaffirmed the importance of protecting academic independence and ensuring fairness in administrative proceedings within public sector universities.
